I was wondering if it was worth the investment to get sorenson squeeze 5?
Any one have any thoughts?

I am a photojournalist transitioning into video and with budget problems at newspapers, I am self taught. Video language is all new to me. 9 out of 10 times the videos will be used on our websites and on my portfolio. Once in awhile we will be asked to burn a DVD for high end viewing.

Thanks for any input.

Well, the beauty behind Compressor is how it integrates with FCP. In fact, you can send a rendered timeline straight to Compressor from within FCP, saving steps. If you're happy with the results you're getting with Compressor, I'd say stick with it.

Sorenson Squeeze becomes more of a necessity if you're using a different NLE like Avid Media Composer, IMHO.

Squeeze can do FLV and Windows Media, but if you aren't doing those, and there isn't anything specific you need that Compressor doesn't do I see no reason to not use Compressor.
