mac email problems on windows server

Started a new job and integrated new Mac Pros for the designers. Everything is peachy except the email out. All the macs can receive mail but can't send. The server is a windows 2003 service pack 2 running domino 7. The macs are using standard mac mail. They have no pop account so I'm setting it through imap. LIke I said I can receive but not send. So I guess it would be imap out and smtp in. I've also tried thunderbird with no luck.
