Hello, have a Amazon gift card that expires with about $250 on it on Wednesday. Need to upgrade the office speakers, I'm looking for some monitors.

Requirements (All must be followed):
  1. Under $250
  2. On Amazon
  3. Must be able to hook up to my Macbook Pro with a simple converter
  4. No USB
  5. Powered, no Passive

With that said, I listen to all types of music with a focus on genres that are going to require a bit more bass, such as hip-hop and reggae.

I have previously owned top of the line Harman Kardon's, Altec Lansings, Logitechs and Creative Gigaworks.

I'm looking for better-sounding smaller speakers. I first thought maybe I could just buy a set of Creative T20/40's, but I'd rather get the monitors. So please don't tell me that I should buy Bose or Creative or Logitech, I've heard all of the computer speaker options and just have decided to move on.

I'm not a true audiophile (yet). I do own some nice stuff, but my ears aren't that good. My daily listening device is a set of SE530's, but I do own UE10's and a McIntosh amp. (The Amp can't be hooked up to my computer or these speakers, as its powering the home theater system in a separate house)

Some of the options that I'm looking at:
BEHRINGER B2031A Truths - probably the favorite right now
M-Audio BX5a 5" BiAmplified Studio Monitor Speakers
Alesis M1 Active 520 75W Active Near-Field Reference Monitor - wish Amazon sold the 620's
Fostex PM0.5 MKII Active Nearfield Studio Monitors

Thanks
