I'm currently running OS X version 10.3.9 on my good 'ol bubble iMac (PowerPC G4, 512 MB)
I hear that upgrading to Tiger (vs. Leopard) is a great way to go. Do you agree? If so, what is the best/easiest/cheapest way to do this?

Your help is much appreciated...

I wasn't super happy with Tiger on 640MB of RAM until I disabled Dashboard. On >1GB, it was/is wonderful on G4s and G5s. You could probably get by on 512MB if you disable both Dashboard and Spotlight, though. That would still net you all the stability and API / compatibility improvements that came with Tiger.

As for getting a copy of Tiger retail box, there are copies for sale here periodically in Marketplace, and they come on eBay not infrequently also.

Thanks!
So then, is it easy to disable/enable Dashboard & Spotlight as needed?
