Click to expand... with this model aperture is shoddy, it will take one pic and close the lens and you can only control it from apertuer, not the camera. hence another solution is necessary

If you didn't buy the camera yet and are just researching, yes canon does provide the software and this camera does do remote shooting. Big difference between Nikon camera control and Canon's camera control is Canon's is free, Nikon's cost extra.
