a wasteland...
I had to restore my library a while ago...no problem, dragged it onto the desktop, iTunes rebuilt it from the .xml file and everything was fine...only problem is now I'm trying to tidy up my desktop and those two pesky library files won't stay deleted from the desktop no matter how man times I trash them...Now, I understand the library file needs to update itself and all, but why can't it keep it's business confined to the iTunes folder?

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

In iTunes preferences menu, go to the "Advanced" tab and make sure your iTunes Music Folder location is not pointing to your Desktop.

Same problem here..

I have the same problem here, and it makes no difference if iTunes is pointing to the iTunes folder onboard the computer or on an external drive (where I have mine most of the time). I reckon it may be a corrupt preference file but am a bit scared to try deleting it (which one?) unless something more goes horribly wrong. Help please someone?
