Just got my G4 PowerMac and everything works great except one thing: I can't seem to open the optical drive. I pressed and held the eject button and pressed cmnd+E but didn't work. Any suggestions?

Try inserting a paper clip into the drive (where the hole is for just such a purpose) while the Mac's turned off. It might be jammed for some reason. It's also possible that the molex connection inside isn't plugged in, and it has no power, which would definitely explain it. Does hitting the eject in iTunes work, per chance?

Make sure the drive tray is fully seated. Sometimes when being moved around the tray will slide out slightly disengaging the limit switch. Push the tray all the way in.
