I've got a wireless network set up with an Airport Extreme Base Station as the WDS main and an Airport Express as a WDS remote.

When any of my computers are clients of the Extreme, my download speed is about 2.5 Mbps (though sometimes as fast as 2.8 Mbps). When any of my computers are clients of the Express, my download speed is about 1.5 Mbps (though sometimes as slow as 600 kbps).

Does anyone know why the Express would be that much slower and if there is anything I can do to speed it up? I've tried restarting and setting it as a WDS relay (rather than a remote), but nothing seems to have much effect.

No one has any ideas on this? I reset the Express to the defaults and set it up again, and that has helped quite a bit, but it's still slower than the Extreme. Is that just the nature of the beast?
