On my way to Mac-land, shipping updates?

Hi,
on April 15th I bought a MacBook Pro.

Ships by: 18 Apr, 2008 - 22 Apr, 2008
Delivers by: 02 May, 2008 - 05 May, 2008

Now I'm regretfully away from home much and rarely have means to access the Apple Store to check on my order. I didn't find anything about this on the Apple site so I'm asking here, do they provide e-mail notifications on status updates so I can plan my whereabouts better as the delivery date approaches? Or are the delivery estimates reliable enough?
 
I am assuming here that you bought through the on-line Apple Store. They will send shipping notification. You can track your order status yourself. Go to the Apple Store and hit Account at the top of the page. Best wishes.
