Connecting macbook to TV

depends if you want analogue or digital video/audio.

for analogue video get a mini-DVI to s-video & composite video (yellow) adapter and connect to your plasma via s-video or composite video (yellow) and for analogue audio use an RCA (red & white) to mini jack cable.

for digital video get a mini-DVI to DVI cable and then use a DVI to DVI cable to connect to the DVI port on your plasma. i cant see a DVI port though so you could try getting the mini-DVI to DVI adapter and then getting a DVI to HDMI cord and plug that into the HDMI port on your plasma. but this would only carry a video signal so for digital audio get a toslink cable with a toslink mini-plug adapter and plug the cable into the optical audio port on your plasma. look here for more info on how to set this up.

i dont have an HDTV so i just use the DVI-video adapter with a yellow composite cable and an RCA to mini-jack cable. video looks fine but the desktop looks very average.

yep! sounds about right except that RCA cable has red and white female jacks, you want red & white male jacks

also i would use a better quality toslink apadter and cable. check out the link i posted above for using surround sound with a MacBook the author suggests Belkin. i edited that after you had posted.

i only have a SDTV so dont rely on me… wait for another member's opinion. but it sounds like youve got the right stuff. also choose either digital or analogue, dont get both. youve got a digital TV and your MacBook supports it so id go with digital video with surround sound as its much superior.
