Screen technology on used or refurbished macbook pros – how to tell?

Hi,
I'm looking to buy a used or refurbished macbook pro. How can I tell what models use the newer (LCD back-lit, I think) technology. This seems to be the biggest difference between older and newer machines, and I'd really like to have a screen that a) comes on at full power right away, and b) will have a good long, and bright life.

Just look at which revision. The 15" made after Aug '07 are all LED, the high resolution 17" made after Feb 26 this year are LED.

The battery life is all good. I don't see anyone actually getting the advertised times. The backlight turns on to whatever setting you down it down in; it will auto adjust in accord to the environment light conditions.
 
15" is easy you can tell by the processor, 2.16 and 2.33 are going to be old tech, 2.2 2.4 2.5 and 2.6 are all LCD

17" only the feb 07 ones are LCD thats the hardest one to tell
