I have a chance to get a new MBP 2.2GHz, 2GB, 120GB HDD, SuperDrive for $1599/US, new. Is this a good deal? Considering the new low end MBP's are 2.4GHz...?

Thanks!

Apple has the same item online in the refurb store for $1449. So it's a matter of whether "new" is worth $150 to you. Full disclosure: I got that exact model refurbed and it's absolutely perfect.

Ahhh...good to know that...I'll take a look. I don't care if it's brand new...

Just FYI.

If you are a student, check your school's computer store first. I know some schools are clearing out their SR 2.4GHz MBP for $1399+$239(Applecare) now.

Amazon still has these same MBPs brand new for $1,524.99 after rebate with free shipping and no sales tax (in most states).

Thanks everyone...good suggestions. I'll check all those out, and compare prior to making a decision...:)

Oh, thanks for the student info, but unfortunately I don't qualify...not a student...but I am always learning
