Hello,

I need to reinstall Leopard on my iMac. I am doing an erase & install, so I am working on backing up all my files and information.

One thing I was worried about was the iPod Touch software update I bought. I am having iTunes backup my library to a couple DVDs, but I am not sure if that has anything to do with this. Once I reformat, am I going to sync my iPod and find the unlocked applications to be removed? Does anyone have any experiences with this? Once you update your iPod, is it permanent?

I also see a few weird files that I assume have to do with the iPod:
~/Library/Lockdown/Some plist file here
~/Library/iTunes/Mobile Applications/iPod Touch App Pack ####.ipa (Used # because I'm not sure if the number in the file name is a serial number or something)

Should I backup these?

Thanks for any help in advance :)

I would imagine the update is tied to your iTunes account and your iPod Touch, so it shouldn't affect it (otherwise people would lose their update after buying a new mac - not a good marketing strategy).
I don't have one myself (I have an iPhone), but you shouldn't have any problems.
