I came across this article and am unsure if this was already mentioned. If it is, then I am sorry. If not, then enjoy.

It basically takes about how the movie studios are "testing" online movie buying by releasing an iTunes version of new releases either before they come out, the same day, or maybe a week after. The main example is Juno.

There is a bit of good news in there:

At the time, several home entertainment toppers told Daily Variety that it was just a matter of time before their movies would be available for purchase on iTunes as well.

I was going to hold out to see Juno as a rental, but according to the story, it won't be a rental until May 14... guess I better get that $15 together.

Why do you use both Mac the Ripper and HB? Everything seems to work fine for me using just HB.

Catiroth, be aware that ripping a rented movie is illegal if that matters at all to you.

^^ I tried to use just one but it didn't work. I also read somewhere to use both so its just what I do now.

Yes, it is illegal but only if you distribute them I thought. As long as it's for personal viewing, I thought it was fine... but that may be for when you actually buy the movie, not rent.

No, it is certainly illegal in both cases; however, more so in the case of ripping a rented DVD.

Also, a gentle reminder that any discussion on how to blatantly break the law by ripping rented DVDs is not only frowned upon by the MacRumors community, but also a violation of MacRumors' Forum Rules. :)

Shame your not in the UK/EU it's legal to rip DVD's here.

Juno was pretty good.

I bought the movie and thought it was pretty good. It was definitely unique; it was not one of those movies where you just know what is going to happen next. And it was pretty funny.. Just my opinion. :)
