Contest:
How low can your battery go?

I'm talking load cycles, current capacity, and age.

Mine has 312 load cycles and 22% capacity left.
Lasts about 30-ish minutes unplugged, actually with my 6 year old daughter this is an automatic "computer limiter" as she plays webkinz, when the MacBook goes to sleep time to quit.

I sure am cheap, cost of gas/etc has delayed me from buying a new battery, why should I, mine is 23 months old and still "works".....
Post image as proof.

nice! my MBP's battery used to have a life of 1s when i unplugged it but thats cheating as it was defective.

is yours defective or on the battery recall list? you never know you could get a new one as MacBook/Pro batteries have a 2 year warranty now.

My MacBook is 23 months old, like the original still in use battery.
I remember reading a few months back about not using batteries with more than 200 or so charge cycles, well I'm 50% past that guideline and still going .

Is there a recall/extended warranty for my original battery?
I am not aware of anything.

Hardware Overview:

Model Name: MacBook
Model Identifier: MacBook1,1
Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB
Memory: 1 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz

well Apple's notebook battery page says down the bottom right:

A properly maintained Apple notebook battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 300 full charge and discharge cycles. You may choose to replace your battery when it no longer holds sufficient charge to meet your needs.

so ring up Apple care and tell them you only have 20% capacity after 300 charge cycles and ask about the 2 year battery warranty and they may replace it. otherwise just buy a new battery… unless you still want the Mac to run as a "computer limiter" for your daughter.

From apple site:
Notebook Owners

Your one-year warranty includes replacement coverage for a defective battery. You can extend your replacement coverage for a defective battery to three years from the date of your notebook purchase with the AppleCare Protection Plan. However, the AppleCare Protection Plan for notebook computers does not cover batteries that have failed or are exhibiting diminished capacity except when the failure or diminished capacity is the result of a manufacturing defect. For MacBook Air owners, Apple offers a battery replacement service. You can purchase replacement batteries for late models of Apple notebooks directly from the Apple Store.

I had the std warranty, so mine is out of warranty. Even then, the disclaimer "does not cover batteries that have failed or are exhibiting diminished capacity except when the failure or diminished capacity is the result of a manufacturing defect" totally limits Apples liability IMO.

For now, will keep the battery until it's "real" unplugged time is below 17-20 minutes, then we'll repalce it. (2-3 more months, when we get the IRS tax rebate/economic spending stimulus check....)
Just for info, I'll post that here at a later date inside this thread.

Still I wonder, are there other MacBook/MacBookPro people with 300+ cycles and have sig more capacity still?

317 cycles and 92% health (this actually just changed, it was still 100% last time I checked a couple weeks ago)

18 month old MacBook C2D

Almost year old BlackBook (May 07 model), 115 cycles and a lowly 100% battery health ;) :p

I am doing great! And I know why, I run on power as less as possible, keep the liquids flowing is what the advice is, even when it is Li-Ion

347 cycles, 82% health

The disclaimer doesn't cover batteries with less capacity that 300/80%, if it has less capacity than that its defective.

Well mine looks like the attached at the moment which is rather unfortunate. Ordered a replacement one from an eBay retailer today. Claims to be a genuine apple part and is going to be £40 rather than the £100 that Apple wanted.

will apple go by what coconut battery says? cause 16 cycles and only 92 battery life left is not good.. my stats were posted earlier this night..

12 months and going strong

my battery has been doing pretty well the year I've had it. I always run it down to 1% every chance i get to recalibrate it:)
