iphoto printing cut off

I am trying to print pictures from my recent trip to Japan using iphoto. Pictures were taken with a canon 8 megapixel camera. I am trying to print them using a canon printer. I select 4x6 border-less in iphoto but the edges of the pictures are cut off. Why isn't it shrinking it to fit the 4x6? When I print with a border, it comes out fine though.
