X-Files New Movie - Good thing?

From CNN: New "X-Files" film, due July 25, will be called "The X-Files: I Want to Believe"

For me, the 90's were defined by the X-Files (and buying my first Apple). Watched every episode, saw FTF, bought the game. So this new movie is godd thing, right (I hope......maybe.....will ruin it forever???)
 
Heard about this a long time ago. They've been very secretive about the project all along.

Personally, I'm very excited. I can't wait.
 
I just worry that it will be difficult for the movie since the last one was on the heels of the series and then poof... like it never existed. Many folks will be lost without a backstory and forgetful of the characters - I think this will only draw a small niche crowd.
 
ive only just started watching the x-files ive just finished the 6th series but so far I’m finding it pretty good but what series will this new film take off from ? Or is it a stand alone film? im still going to see it tho:cool:
 
I used to watch the x-files, it used to be good, haven't watched it for ages, when I last watched it Gillian Anderson was voted hottest woman alive ;)
