can someone enlighten me, i recently converted to mac, everythings been going great until now. suddenly the cd slot won't grad a disc. i haven't dropped it or anything. I was in the process of getting ready to burn a dvd, when i loaded the dvd it asked for a blank one. when i tried to load another disc it simply wouldn't grad it and continues to do so.
please help

yeah i was pretty sure i did, but can't be certain now since it was a couple of hours ago
theres no disc showing in finder

when i try to put a disc in it goes in half way but the superdrive won't grab it. surely it wouldn't go in at all if there was a disc in it. someone help pleeease,:(

i just tried pushing a disc in all the way but it gets a bit forceful, then makes a few noise but nothing happens. drive still non responsive

This happened to me before - there is a disc still in the machine. I know there are a whole bunch of solutions for removing discs that "aren't there" (Finder doesn't recognize them) but I don't know of them specifically. Anyone?

Im hope you didn't already have one in the drive as had been suggested...
Try holding the eject button down on re-start.
Otherwise you probably just jammed the hell out of it with 2 discs & you will have to replace the drive.:(

i just opened up disc utility and it says their is no media present. tried the mouse and rebooting and all that, drive doesn't even make a sound. only have it a month would it be covered under warrenty?
