Hey all,

There's no particular orientation to the Magsafe power adapter, is there?

The long cord plug has a ground and can obviously only be plugged in one way. But the little mini plug does not, and the 2 plugs are the same shape so it can be plugged in either orientation.

I was wondering because I have a black plug without a ground from some other device that fits in the brick. I'm pretty sure there's no problem in doing that but just wanted to check. It would be handy since I usually leave the long cord plug at work.

Thanks!

No it doesn't matter. It can be plugged in either way. If the light comes on (Red for charging, Green for charged), then you're fine.

Cool, thanks!

For my moms Macbook...you can plug it any ways...however I don't understand some of the magsafes you are talking about

LOL, I know my description wasn't very clear. I was talking about the brick itself, where you can put in the compact plug 'end' or the longer cord version.
