I want to connect my MacBook Pro to a Sony HD monitor. The Mac has a DVI-I Single Link output and the monitor has a DVI-D Dual Link input. What type of cable does this require? Does single link to dual link matter?

Thanks!

Nope. It just means you can hook to sources up to the Sony monitor. Hook up your DVI cable between MBP and monitor and go. It may have a toggle switch. For example: Input A and input B, so the monitor knows which signal you want to display. Depending on the monitor, it may automatically show the signal if only one input is present. Just use a DVI cable.
