ok after doing lots of googling and searching i have finally managed to change the dial tones on my phonepad with speaking numbers which sounds very cool.
go to this site and type in the numbers 0 - 9 and download each one to your pc http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php, you can even select the type of voice you want or type in text and it will speak it for you. I have even typed in STAR and HASH so it will correspond with the * and # keys too
then convert the wav files to aiff, i use a program called switch. after you convert the files, rename those aiff files to dtmf-0.caf, dtmf-1.caf where the -0 and -1 correspond to the number pad on the iphone. Do this all the way to 9, the star key is dtmf-star.caf and the hash is dtmf-pound.caf
then ftp into your phone with winSCP or any similar program and replace the files in the /SYSTEM/LIBRARY/AUDIO/UISOUNDS,
this works on 1.1.3, and i dont see why it wont on any other versions.
