I jsut got my iPhone a week ago, unlocked it with pwned, and now its running with Rogers.

I am going for a trip to New York for a week and I would like to be able to use my iPhone in the states without getting massive roaming charges from rogers. I'm hoping I could get some kind of pre-paid plan to last me for the week but I have no knowledge about the US mobile carriers.

My question is what carrier should I go with, what prepaid card should I get, and do any of these plans have EDGE included(possible unlimited)? Are these prepaid cards jsut sims that you pop in? Anybody have any experience with this?

AT&T has (or at least, had) a pre-paid voice plan that didn't require providing information to AT&T. It didn't have EDGE though.

But as a previous poster pointed out, you can turn off your EDGE and just use Wifi.
