I don't live in the States nor Canada, but Vancouver BC is in Canada..
I think the majority the people knows that as well...

Apple authorized reseller locations:
http://www.apple.com/ca/buy/locator/

Type your city into the search box. Press enter (the "go" button isn't working for me.) Choose the location nearest you.

There are no Apple stores in Vancouver. Not yet, anyway. If you're determined to buy direct from Apple, use the online store, or it's a trip across the border into the US for you.

I recommend simply computing. www.simply.ca
They have branches across the lower mainland.

westworld computing www.westworld.ca is also decent.

The aforementioned macstation has given me problems in the past, so I tend to avoid them.

UBC Bookstore, London Drugs, and Best buy also sell macs.

Rumors of an apple store coming in the fall or new year to Pacific Centre.

Also try London Drugs

Can someone direct me to a dealer or store in the Lower Mainland. Newbie here needs some help.

If you pretty well know what you want, also check out the bigger London Drugs. I have bought several computer systems from them over the years (PC and Apple). The one on Robson, or on Granville (both downtown) have good computer departments. Prices are what you'd pay anywhere else. There is no pressure to "upgrade" or buy more stuff. Its a low pressure sale. They may or may not be able to answer your questions - depends on the clerk and the question. They have good customer service. If you find you have problem, they will not give you a hard time about returns or exchanges.

I've had mixed success with MacStation. They know their equipment, and can give advice. They are one of the few places I've found with a Mac Book Air on display and available for hands on examination. They have a good selection of peripherals (cords, cases, etc). I've found their repair service to be adequate.

I've had no experience with the other places recommended.

If you are in Victoria, I can recommend a store there as well.

Make sure you check out the Apple online store as well.

Good Luck
