I know people complain a lot about the actual phone call capabilities of the iPhone, but up until this past week I didnt find it to be that bad really, i live right outside NYC. in the last few days specifically almost every call I have been on gets dropped, especially all the ones with my gf while shes on her iPhone.. anyone else having a similar increase in dropped calls recently?

i live at the extreme west end of suffolk county, but didn't experience dropped calls, probably because I didn't really use the phone function too much

Increase in dropped call?
Pope in town?
Hmmm...

Definitely the likeliest possibility if you were within a dozen blocks of him.
Remember that if the PotUS goes on say European soil, he claims the area around him to be American soil pretty much, with some nice anti-tech hardware above in a helicopter and no doubt a lot more we don't know about.

As far as I can remember

I can't find the article. It basically said that the US Secret Service could act under US law in the vicinity of the President of the United States, on foreign soil (obviously this gets agreed with the country first in terms of the trip).

Edit: Slightly wrong on my side, but they basically have pretty much full reign when in London for example:
