if i was to buy and airport express and connect it to a free wired signal could i put a password on the airport express so only i could connect to the wireless signal.

ex. i stay in a hotel that only has a wired network, i pay for 1GB of usage, i hook up my airport express but i don't want the people in the room next to me connecting to it and using the signal i paid for. how do i stop them from connecting to my signal

Yes this can be done. There is a couple ways to do it. You could encrypt it then use a password to connect. Or use MAC address filtering to only allow your system to connect.

encrypt it via airport express? because i can't encrypt then entire network only the wireless signal that comes from my airport express. and how do i do that

sweet.

o i got one more question. i have 2.2 C2D MBP all i need to do to get 802.11n is enable it with the cd or whatever comes with the airport express right?
