I've posted this before but I never seem to get an answer.
It really annoys me.
I don't think iTunes should look like this.

Those faint boxes are definitely not normal. Unfortunately I don't have any advice on how to remove them, but I do remember seeing a thread about someone with the same problem not too long ago. Perhaps a solution was given in that thread and it'll apply to you as well. Good luck!
