Folder or file rename problem ?

Hello everyone,
I Have MBP running leopard 10.5.2 and i have a problem it might be common, when i try to rename a file or a folder while i'm renaming or adding or deleting letters the folder or file back to it's original state as if someone pressed escape, am i setting something wrong or it's another problem ?
Help me please! :)
 
After alot or renaming operations i found that this happens the most in all view modes except icon view ???? Help me please :) :apple:
