[B im only able to receive email through aol/aim on my iphone. does anyone know what setting do i need to be able to send mail?[/B]

Here's how I have mine set and it's working fine, but as I recall, the phone set it up fairly automatically for me. I remember selecting AOL as the type of new email account and then entering my aol username and password and I was done.

IMAP Account Info:
Name: (just my name)
Address: (the email address for the aol account)
Description: (has my email address again)

Incoming Mail Server
Host Name: imap.aol.com
User Name: (my aol account name (minus the @aol.com))
Password: (my aol password)

Outgoing Mail Server
Host Name: smtp.aol.com
User Name: (my aol account name (minus the @aol.com))
Password: (my aol password)

In the advanced settings tab:

Incoming Settings:
Use SSL: On
Authentication: Password
IMAP Path Prefix
Server Port 993

Outgoing Settings
Use SSL
Authentication: Password
Server Port 587

And I think that's it. Hope this helps! One thought before I go... if you have an AIM account and not an AOL account, it's possible it's giving you some trouble. But I'm not sure how to fix that. I'd search the forum for aim mail or search aol's help for IMAP.
