I'm down to two machines:

Does anybody know of any benchmark comparisons?
I do video for a living and I'm trying to decide if I should get the refurb 2.2ghz SR MPB for $1449 or the refurb 2.4ghz SR MBP for $1649?
I'm going to bump up the memory to 4GB myself. Going to add a 320gb HDD at 5400RPM later, and buy a 1T external.
I'm going to buy from Apple.com or Small Dog, same price, any ideas?

Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
15.4-inch widescreen display
2GB memory
120GB hard drive
8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 128MB of GDDR3 memory
$1449

or:

Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
15.4-inch widescreen display
2GB memory
160GB hard drive
8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB of GDDR3 memory
$1649

Go with the 2.4.

It's faster, better graphics, bigger HD. Benchmark wise, 256 definitely makes a difference in graphics. I think 2.4 is 4-5% faster than the 2.2. It's only an extra $150 for those upgrades. I think it's worth it.

I should've waited for refurb 2.4s :(

Go for the 2.4. For $200 it's a good deal, in my opinion. Not for the video ram though, do it for the faster CPU, bigger hard drive, etc.

You will see more colors in Final Cut Pro with the 256MB ram card than with the 128.
