WD Passport Elite

Well I bought one of these and my question is can I also use this as a flash drive just to move pics and music from iTunes from my macbook to my imac or is this only a back up and restore ? After I did a backup on my macbook and than plug it in my imac it would not reconize the WD Passport.

NTFS and FAT32 whats the deal I just saw this in another post I did not see that as a option when I pluged it into my mackbook ? Sorry for the edit I did get the WD to work on my imac i just used the usb on the back of the computer and not the keyboard so that now works I think I just have one more concern when I open the WD off the desktop i see my folder that was created for the back up can i just create a new folder next to it and use that like a flash drive and just dump some videos in that and will that folder efect my next back up ?
