hey guys and girls.
i had my time machine running all sweet via usb with the stock HD that came with the machine. i recently upgraded the HD to a 320Gb jobbie, using CCC to get my data over to the new drive. i connected up the timemachine drive today, and it now wants to backup all the data on the disk. it seems as if it thinks the new drive is.. well a new drive...:(

anyone have this problem?? a fix??

cheers

That's a bit strange, but not really surprising. As you pointed out, it is a new drive. Time Machine must gather some data that identifies the drives it will backup for you. Since your new drive doesn't match the information gathered from the old drive, TM says "Hey, there's a drive I can backup for you!"

Sorry, I don't have a fix for you. You could let it simply make a new backup, and delete the old TM files later, when you know you won't need them?

i figured since it was a 'clone' of my last drive it would just carry on as normal... or is there a 'trick' i have missed somewhere??
