Kids a junior, no mom, and dad died yesterday (4-21) of heart failure. His closest family is in Boston(were in Florida), he quit his job two days before it happened, and now has nowhere to live. His dad was really cool and always had fun when I came over, just a good guy all around.

Such a bum situation, guess I just wanted to vent or something.

That must be really hard to deal with. It's bad enough that his father passed away, but he has very little to turn too.

Hopefully his friends and their families can do what they can to help him out.

My sympathies and condolences go out to him!

Yeah, I dont know how id cope being the only relative around. Everyones been calling him and talking to him and visiting him and what not, he stayed at one of our buddies houses last night, and practically everyone has offered to let him crash for a while.

Luckily he is on the football team, were like family and everyone is helping him out. Thanks for the contributions guys/gals, just wanted to talk about it a little bit.

Ok, how old are you and your friend? What's a "junior"? Is that a high school thing, or a university term? I think it's a uni term, but not too sure.

Its both, Im 16, he is 17.

EDIT: and his dad couldn't have been over 50

Where is he going to live? Maybe you can talk to your parents and he can just stay at your place until things get sorted with regards to moving, switching schools, etc.

Man, that sucks.
