Today is the, not particularly well publicised, Walk to Work Day. So London MR peeps, did you walk to work?

I walked the 40 minutes from home to CW. It was quite pleasant but I may take the DLR home :p

I used to walk to my job at a bookstore because taking the bus, which would take me directly to work, would only be 5 minutes faster than walking.

It was also a walk through Hampstead Heath, so it could have been worse. ;)

I'm at home so no walking for me but teh e walked to work... from the tube station. :p (we live just a bit too far out for walking into The City) :D

That's such a gorgeous area, my absolute favourite "if I could only afford it" location. <le sigh>

Lived in Highgate, two minutes walk from the village, and around 3 minutes from the Heath. If you know the area, the block of flats I lived in was directly across from The Flask (very old, famous pub). My job was at Books Etc, in the O2 Centre beside Finchley Rd. Station. I even walked to work (at Books Etc) in the rain, as it was a nice walk regardless of weather. :)

The 5-6 of us students could afford it because I believe it was only ever meant for 2 or 3 people. Rent was around £1600 per month.

Oi! Who you calling a tramp!?

:D:D:D

Hey now, I didn't hang out there at night or anything. Was too afraid of all the big cats reportedly on the loose.

I would have walked to college, but Kingston to South Kensington is a little bit too far (~8 miles).
