Hi, I've just bought a new Dual 2.8GHz Quad-Core Mac Pro

I want to upgrade the 2GB Ram and Install a new HD,

What RAM should I get? Looking for 4GB can’t afford 8GB just yet.
Where should I buy the ram from? Are there any brands you recommend?

Also I want to install a new harddrive 320/500GB are there any drives I should be looking out for?

I've been a PC user for 20 years and have just got a new mac pro and a macbook pro, used them at work for the last 5 years and just got my own, feels great! Just don’t know too much about upgrading them.

Thanks in advance

ps i'm based in the UK

NewEgg or OtherWorldComputing is where I usually shop, usually the latter unless there's a big price difference. :]

Ooops... didn't read that you're based in UK 'til I already replied, sorry.

Hi Peshwari I'm in UK too, I get all my HDD's from Ebuyer,
If you want a 500GB why not consider the WD6400AAKS 640GB HDD, it's very fast and very quiet, but check out samsungs F1 or Seagates HDD's too :)

As for RAM, check OWC, they will ship to the UK and you can't beat the prices anywhere in the UK ;)
