Backing up user folder to external drive

I'm networked into another mac's hardrive and I'm trying to back up their user folder to my external hardrive. I get a message that it can't complete the operation because a particular font is coming up as 'locked'??? Any thoughts?
 
can you skip that file??

In general skip any system files. Just backup the docs. Can you sort by extension?
Have you tried rebooting?
