Recently, there has been a weird hissing coming from my Mac. It's really annoying and I have no clue if it's my fan or what. BTW, this noise goes away and comes back randomly. Thanks!

Weird hissing coming from my MBP

I, too, have heard odd sounds coming from my MBP.
I think (as other people have commented here) that for the most part, the HD is the culprit, but I've also noticed a whining sound (possibly from the power `brick`) when scrolling -- odd.
