So I've searched the forum and ended up redirecting all items in my trash to a folder on the desktop and performed a sudo command to empty the contents.

But then created a new folder with a random name and tried emptying the trash. Everything works from the finder, it asks me if I'm sure, I click OK and then nothing. The empty file remains in the trash bin. The same thing occurs for secure empty trash.

I've verified my disk, repaired permissions zapped PRAM, restarted, etc. but still it won't work.

Everything on 10.5.2 has been going fine. I have been experiencing some trouble with an application where technical support has had me erase some PACE interlok files in system/library. But I've been very careful there.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the response.
I have neither Bootcamp nor vmware installed.

I hope this isn't a symptom of a larger problem. Everything else seems to run just fine.
