I have a DVD with video footage on when I was a wee lad. How can I grab some of that video and add that to a new movie I am creating in iMovie 08'?

Grabbing video from a DVD and using it in iMovie 08'

Try the sofware called handbrake. It can take video off a dvd and save it to your hard drive. Then you can drag it from the hard drive into iMovie.
Note: I'm not sure how your home video is setup. If its just a dvd with a video saved to it for back up purposes, you should be able to just copy and paste it.
