Help me decide please..switching from PC to Mac..

Hello everyone,

I need help deciding what to get. I am stuck between the 24" new Imac ($1,799 model), and the 15.4" Macbook pro notebook ($1,999 model). I really like both and can see that getting the macbook would provide portability and I could always hook it up to a larger monitor while at home, as well as a wireless keyboard and mouse.

What do you guys think? If you had to choose, which would you get and why?

I second that...the iMacs aren't very upgradable so the main point of the desktop (that I see) isn't present in the iMacs. I'd say it's worth the extra $200 to get the MBP. Laptops are great to have over desktops and they resell better. Just get the applecare protection plan....
 
MacBook Pro all the way. The mobility gained with a portable speaks for itself. Good luck with your choice and congrats for making the decision to switch.
