I want to do a manual back up of the settings i have done in the Parental Controls Preference Pane, but I want to back that up manually, I know where the actual .prefpane is, but where are the parental controls settings saved? In the actual .prefpane?

Lots of them are in ~/Library/Preferences/

Look for the ones starting with com.apple.x

I imagine the Parental Control ones are encrypted somewhere and hidden so the protectees cant edit them. Sorry

Well I can enable to view hidden folders....I am not willing to edit it, just back it up manually. Don't suggest Time Machine, and don't ask, its a long story.

If you go to /Library/Application Support/Apple/ there's a ParentalControls folder, but I'm not sure if it contains everything you'd need to back up.

I think it does!! Thanks a mucho, I'll look into it more though, but thanks!!:D:D:D:D

I want to back up the "exceptions" I've set in the content filter list, there are tons of sites, so in case of an HD failure, I wouldn't want to fill up that list again manually.
