Just recently I started seeing at least one of my processors running at near 100%. I opened activity monitor to find that syslogd is the cause. After reading around the internet I have learned that the problem isn't with syslogd but some program that is causing it to constantly record lots of log stuff.
I looked in system.log(which is 321 MB) and found lots and lots of entries from the screen saver. The only thing I have done recently is install a new screen saver. RainyDay2.
How do I uninstall a screen saver? I'm sure its actually rather simple, but heres the catch, the screen saver is appearing under Apple in the screensaver list and not under Other, so when I right click I don't get the option to reveal in finder or move to trash.
Running 2.8 iMac with 10.5.2 for what its worth.
Thanks for any help.
[Edit] Never mind I Think solved the problem. After visiting the blog of the person who made this screensaver I learned he made it install under Apples screen savers on purpose.
I was apple to uninstall it. So far the problem has not come back.
