Leopard Upgrade Mail Issue

I just upgraded to Leopard from Tiger and after everything was done, it wont let me open mac mail. I get a message "you cannot use the application mail with this version of OSX".

I've never seen this before and do not know how to proceed. How can I update my mail if it wont let me open it?!

Help please!
