Black Boxes in OS X

Recently, a black box has started appearing around anything that you click on.
Anyone have a clue how to get this to stop?? There are 8 nieces and nephews under 8 running around the house so messed up settings are my guess. It appears around everything, not just in a specific program.

cmd+F5

The Cmd+F5 button turn voice over on without having to go to the universal access preference pane. Where ever the mouse is clicked then the computer 'speaks' what is within the box. I have accidently pressed it on numerous times. Hope this helps.
