MBP MagSafe - Is this covered by warranty?

Hi, had my MBP 2.2 for about 4 months now and the plastic sleeve of the cord on the brick side has started to come out from the brick, revealing the silver shielding around the inner cord. Does anyone have this problem and do service centers repair/replace them? I don't want it to be a fire hazard.

They should have like a plastic crimp on the cord thats retained by the casing so this won't happen....

Yeah they'll probably replace it; from the looks of it, you wound it too tight.

To clarify a little. It is too tight on the first time around. You want that first time to be sorta loose so the cord has room to wiggle a bit. After that, it looks like you have yours wrapped as I wrap mine.

Even with that, Apple will replace this no questions asked because it represents a fire hazard if used.
Please DO NOT use it in this condition!
If you must use it, go get some electrical tape and wrap it first.

Yeap, should be covered by AppleCare (their version of 'warranty') and you can sign up for a Genius Bar appointment ahead of time at:
