is there a way to stop the CD drive from spinning when I wake up my MBP?

I know I know, I could just take the CD out. But is there any setting that will prevent the CD drive from spinning and reading the disc when I wake the computer up? Not the end of the world if there's not, but it'd be great if there was an option somewhere.

not that i know of...it would be nice..i tried to figure this out for a while when i first got my mbp but no luck...

i hope someone has figured it out!
