Apple has updated their website with a large banner declaring "iPad is Here". Apple has posted hands on videos with several of the launch applications including The Elements, Marvel Comics, The Wall Street Journal, Epicurious, At Bat 2010 and several more.

Today is iPad launch day. MacRumors forum readers awaiting their UPS shipments for the iPads are following this thread as they await delivery, while those actually going to a local retail store are meeting up with others.

We'll have coverage of the iPad launch, impressions and more as the day progresses.

Congrats!

To all of you who will have it tomorrow or in the next few days. I have to wait till it arrives in México and nobody here knows when will that be.

Enjoy your iPads!

It still amazes me that Apple is releasing a gimped product. A product that could easily today have a camera, and usb ports, and multitasking, but doesn't because if they add those features 2 years later, they can make more money. It's pretty sad. A product that easily could have been the device for techies and casuals, but nope. We just get a large iPod with some new apps.

And... we also have to wait in little Norway. :/ All the little nordic hobbits have to wait for this revelation.

Hehe. I think more percent of scandinavians are awake right now than the percent of americans.

Welcome

Let me be the first to welcome our new iPad overlords.

Ok, maybe that was too nerdy, but I think the 'pad's usefulness will really be for apps designed specifically for it. The large screen is it's single asset, so as long as we see more apps like what have come out so far, then the 'pad should be a solid 1.0 release.

Nothing new for Apple.

Um, so on that exact page, under the MLB app, what's this about:

Watch live streaming games on the large iPad screen and listen to pitch-by-pitch audio — even when you’re in a different app.

Ok so now lets move on to the 3G models....grrrrr hurry!!! Hopefully they will announce a set date soon.

I can listen to WWOZ radio in Safari while using other apps. Perhaps the MLB app opens a safari window with the audio stream. I don't know why more internet radio stations don't do it that way.

Thats business.

If you don't like it then there are loads of alternative tablet pcs that offer superior user experience.

I am waiting till it gets a camera - but i am not sulking about it.

The fact it is here AT ALL at such a price point is a major step forward in personal computing.

No pleasing some people. :D

--------------

Does this mean we get a new iphone OS too?

PS: Its outrageous we have to wait in a country like Denmark - really

We have to wait in Sweden to! It's killing me.

hehe - and you guys are JUST little COUNTRIES! :D

we're a whole bloody CONTINENT with (just about?) more internetz/head than YOU! :p

and we have to wait :(

I can't wait to see ifixit.com or something of the like tear this thing down! The FCC pics just aren't working.:p I have my lotion all ready and everything.

I wasn't aware you could do that. But since Apple seems to be actually advertising this feature, hopefully developers will catch on that this can be done. It'd certainly be handy with, say, Pandora.

Ditto for Singapore... It says "A magical and revolutionary product at an unbelievable price" on the apple.com.sg site, but doesn't mention anywhere what the price is... probably at the exchange rate plus about 20% when they finally bring it out!
