OK everyone I did a search and went to the software forum. I know this might not be the right place but its the only one I ever check so I'll see how long it lasts in this forum.
So I just ordered my first Mac 15in macbook pro the baseline 2.4, 4gb, 320gb HDD, Hi Res glossy, with iWork, apple care and fast shipping.
I've been a System Administrator and Windows guy for sometime since I got out of college so High level Tech in Windows, UNIX, and Linux but not much with a Mac. I don't do much video editing or photostuff. I have a Win7 desktop for gaming so I won't be using my macbook Pro for that. I will just be surfing the internet, Office, remoting into my desktop, VPN to my work desktop, and creating some iphone/ipad apps and some code and macro writing for work.
So my questions are:
1. Besides firefox & Parallels which I'll use for Win7, what software is out there besides what I can do a google search for, I want user experience with mac apps (Pros and Cons)?
2. I have a hacked iPhone on T-Mobile (no AT&T were I live) that I connect to my Windows7 iTunes will I have to jailbreak it again to sync to my macbook pro? Will I lose all my appointments in my iphone calander? Same question but with my ipod.
3. When running Windows on a Mac does it have all the same capabilities as a windows system like coding, Access and excel macro building etc (stuff I use for work)??? Will most/all windows software install on the Windows partition of the macbook?
