I have recently upgraded from a 2008 unibody MacBook to an i5 MBP. My 2008 MacBook's trackpad has a major dip in the bottom left side from being pushed constantly... does anyone have any suggestions to prevent the trackpad from sinking after use?

Thanks

You should not have any issues with the new MBP. Your old Macbook had a plastic touchpad and button while the new machine has a glass touchpad.

I had the same issue with my Late 2008 Aluminum MacBook.

The issue is the screw that attaches the trackpad to the rest of the frame gets loose. It is located under the battery. However, to tighten the screw, you must take it to the Apple Store and have them do it for you. The whole thing takes about two minutes to do.

When they tightened the screw, everything went back to normal.

I've handed down the old MacBook to my sister - do you know if they'll do this for you out of warranty?
