Was overaggressive with MacKeeper and managed to delete several applications. Managed to get important apps back from TM. However, still not back to where I was. Had a session with MacKeeper and they said they could not assist anymore. Most of the problems are aggravating rather than incapacitating. For example, now cant mail a pdf from Mail. Can save as pdf but then have to go back to folder etc. Have restored the library folder to no avail. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Plan to get Lion this summer. Will this cure the ills that caused myself?

This is one of the reasons I don't recommend apps like MacKeeper. You don't need apps like that to keep your Mac running well. I assume you were smart enough to create a backup before you started deleting things, right? So just restore your system (not just the library folder) from your backup.

Problem after MacKeeper

Have realized don't really need MacKeeper. Have restored but not back to where was before problem started. Wondering if I have to re-install Snow Leopard?

Not knowing what all you deleted, that sounds like a good idea.

You shouldn't lose anything. However, it's always a good idea to have regular backups, but if the disk has problems, you may not be able to successfully backup at this point.
