The corners of the thumb scoop (just below the trackpad) are pretty sharp and if you aren't careful, I suppose you could cut yourself there aswell.

Did you know that you can slice bread with a MBA as well?

Oh apple.

-Omi

Did you hear about that guy who crashed his car while his MBA was on his lap and it cut his stomach or some other good place.

pics or that didn't happen.

it is one of those stories that provokes that kind of response but i believe him on this one

The sharp edge is sh*t design, cuts of blood flow when I'm resting on it while browsing. This morning my infant son got a wide bruise on his nose just because he crawled into it. If I knew how thick the material under it is I would go to a body shop and have them shave it to a smoother form, even if it would obviously affect the smoothness of the color.

I predict they'll get rid of this flaw within a year.

There's another thread about this here > https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/203455/ where I posted a photo of where I was cut.

I was really surprised no one made more comments in that thread?

I wish everyone who is concerned about this would email Apple, imo it's a design flaw and so easily corrected I can't believe they over looked it.

If you search here or in google there is a LOT of people who are concerned about it, have chafed their wrists, have to wear long sleeves, or used electrical tape to soften the edge or use an external keyboard.

I called our Business Rep at Apple about it, the reply I got was "we've never heard about that before" ... and that's about it, I didn't pursue it further, I really love my Mac's, the sharp edge is about the only thing I don't like and it's my fault in a way how I sliced my wrist because I got up quickly and where my arm was resting on the edge I 'pushed away and at the same time slid my wrist along the edge ... a few minutes later it was bleeding, I was pissed but I'm not the complain/law suit type of person.

But for all the law suits that fly around nowadays I'm surprised there isn't one over this, or at least a petition..... I dunno ....

I agree the sharp edges will be gone, we who own a 'lot' of Mac's now will continue to suffer ... or spend thousands on upgrades to get a smoother edge, lol.

I also thought about getting a machine shop to oh so carefully smooth the edge but I don't have the nerve to try it :)
